The State of Georgia established a Confederate Soldiers home for those men who reported for state service and service to the Confederate Government 1861-1865. These soldiers were wounded and unable to take care of themselves. (A for runner of the modern VA System) Those soldiers who died while in the Confederate Soldiers home were buried on State property now managed by a trust established and managed by West View Cemetery in Atlanta
